Joe McNally in Helsinki

Nikon Professional Services brought Joe McNally to Helsinki to demonstrate Nikon's 'Creative Lighting System' in action. He was using the latest and greatest D3's and SB-900's in various off-camera lighting situations. To immediately implement everything Joe taught, I just had to take a picture of him using an ancient Canon point-&-shoot G3 using the built-in flash. I'm sure Joe would be proud.

Otherwise it was great to see the man in action at an arm's lenght. You get an idea of his personality through his blog postings and training videos. Seeing him live reveals that in real life he is even more, er, vivid. Then again, after the workshop was over and I got to chat with him for a while, he was really friendly and considerate. Sure, McNally has massive skills when it comes to taking pictures, but I'm sure it's his personality that has gotten him to where he is now.
